Recently I have been listening to David Wilcox's latest CD entitled "Open Hand". I have been a fan of David Wilcox for many years and I have to say that David really poured out his soul and talent on this one. Even the mix is rather unique and was recorded at the Sonic Temple It may take listening a couple times to get it but it becomes very listenable with its emphasis on the lows and subtle details scattered through out the spectrum.

"The album was recorded live on two-inch sixteen-track analog tape at Ferndale California’s Sonic Temple in just seven days. “The whole building is an instrument that makes music,” David said.

The twelve tracks are classic Wilcox – smooth and easy on the ears, but full of the stuff he affectionately calls “cardio-spelunking.”"

The album is well worth a listen both from an artistic perspective and technical perspective.
