Siggy material for sure, just not mine :D

    REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Maybe Vitamin Shop should start a new product line!
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

On a serious, and real life scenario. The placenta contains embryonic stem cells that can be frozen for long term storage. These are your actual stem cells that could be used at a future point in time to save your life, or potentially cure many diseases. Who knows what science will be able to do with these cells in 40 - 70 years when an infant born today could use them.

Do you want to do something for your soon to be born child? Do some research, there are legitimate medical firms that will freeze your infants placenta (or portion there of) for future medical use.

Google "freezing placenta", or look Here for a sample of information on this subject.

So why did the woman want to eat her placenta? Look Here for a Forum discussion on the issue. Right up a Polk Forum junkie's alley;)

    Wouldn't that be cannabilism?

It is a human body part.

Actually I know of a few people that do this.

If you search Google for "placenta recipes" (without the quotes) there's a lot of them out there. I have at least one friend in California who after giving birth had the midwives prepare placenta based foods for the party.

    It's all fairly normal.

Then wouldn't drinking piss be cannibalism?

I'm pretty sure cannibalism involves injury or death. A placenta does neither.

Your and my definitions of "normal" differ WILDLY.

The official definition of cannibalism is the practice of "eating the flesh of your own kind." Placenta can certainly be thought of as flesh.
