amplification question and in-ceiling suggestions

Hi guys,
I putting a 5.1 setup in my new apartment. I would like to only need one amplifier but my rears will not be able to handle as much as the front 3 speakers. The rears will be in-ceiling (estimated 6 inch) with LSi15s and a LSiC in front with DSW microPRO 2000. I am leaning toward an XPA-5 but have some questions:
Will the amp power the front 4 ohm speakers and rear 8 ohm speakers with no issues? What will be the XPA's wpc if this is the case? Also, what in-ceiling speakers(up to $800/pair) will mesh well in this setup?
Any knowledge and suggestions are greatly appreciated. This forum is teaching me a ton about audio and making me realize how little I knew in the first place. Thanks guys (especially Tom from Charlotte).

If you are using an AVR, you can use the pre-outs to send signal to the power amp for 4Ohm's to the front speakers. You can use the 8Ohm speaker outputs on the AVR for the rear speakers. I'll leave it to the experts to tell you whether or not the XPA can do both 4 and 8 Ohm outputs at the same time.____________________________________________________________

....BTW, how are you going to get in-wall speakers in the ceiling of your apartment? Do you have access to do so? Just curious how that will work.____________________________________________________________

thanks dpowell, I am pretty sure I'm going to go with a pre/pro with an amp versus an AVR though I am not against AVRs, I just assume a pre/pro will be easier to upgrade if I choose to do so (i.e. 4ohm speakers in ceiling).
The apartment is actually a condo pre-wired for 5.1
I would also like some suggestions on a pre/pro or AVR under $1000. Maybe Emotiva's new UMC-1? -
That's nice that they pre-wired it!
You might be able to find Pioneer's SC-07 AVR on videogon for uner $1,000 new. A lot of members rave about that AVR but it doesn't do 4 Ohm. Look at Outlaw Audio's products as well or try and pick up something used here or on Audiogon.____________________________________________________________
