5.1: 4 x LSi15/1 x LSiC/5 x dual amps/3 x DSWmicroPRO4000
sup polkies!
if 5x amplifier like emotiva xpa5 (350x5@4ohm) is just barely good enough for lsi15..
how about 5 x xpa2 (500x2@4ohm) ? http://emotiva.com/xpa2.shtm each channel biamped!
thunderous enough of a 5.1 system ?

350 watts is more than enough for LSI 15's
-
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

well after reading numerous posts on lsi/lsi15.. sounds like what would make the lsi15 really shine is 350-500w biamps
-
I recommend you bi-amp your LSI speakers with minimum of Bryston 28B-SST2
http://www.bryston.com/28bsst_m.html
or bi-amp with Parasound Halo JC1 monoblocks.
But in my lowly setup, I used 3 x Parasound HCA-2205AT and 2 x Pioneer Elite M91 for each LSi speakers all 8 pairs (2 pairs of LSi25, 1 pair of LSi15, 2 Pairs of LSi9, 2 Pairs of LSiF/x, 2 x LSiC) of them.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. nice amps ^
if my calculation is correct.. thats 18 x LSi ? wow.. hey youre close to doing the hamasaki 22.2.. that the goal ? but damn how many amps is that total ? lol
i got enough speakers for 11.2.. which im considering aswell beside the LSi15s.. just get a 11.2 receiver and be done
or get serious and invest in 5 x cardersound horns.. without spending a ton of $ in a ton of amplification
contemplating.. -

Nope! Only 16 LSi and I am not aiming to go 22.2. I have 16 LSi, 4xPSW1000, 2 xSVS PB13 Ultra, 2xED A7s-450 in the HT room which probably translate to 22.2???
I am not a fan or any horn loaded speakers but I am sure they are great speakers. I do not think that a few higher efficiency horn loaded speakers yield the same results as 11.2 setup in the sound quality department (provided you used LSi speakers).Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. There are sold older pictures of my HT room in my history. You don't think I have what I said I have?Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

no.. just trying to figure out your system thats allno agenda
that many Lsis/subs would love to see pic of it.. sincerely
how do i get to "sold older pics.. @ history" ? -
I am sorry for making it confusing.
I meant you can find a few pictures in the History of my posts. And there is a recent one in the sold thread but I am hiding it from you since I am not sure if you are not working for IRS.
I'll reveal the pictures only if you swear you are not working for IRS.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

I was just kidding earlier but makes me wonder whether you are in the U.S or other part of world.
But wherever you are in at, Welcome to Club Polk!
Here is a picture of the recent one. There are more but I need to find them too.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -
I found some more pictures in the thread below. A few changes made since these older pictures - I've added one more Parasound amp and swapped out the RTi12 with another pair of LSi25 since.

hehe...The difference between me and the guy who owns $6mil HT system is that I am poor and he is RICH. So, He has nothing to worry like me about irs.
But irs thing was a Joke.
I share your pain. Neighbors and Apartment is a major kick in the back. My neighbors makes noise as much as I do in the HT room.

I just had a question. It probably has already been answered but seeing as how you have owned both the RTi line and LSi line at the same time, was there a marked improvement between the two lines? I had a B&W setup that consisted of 603s2 602s2 lcr600s2 and asw600. This has all been upgraded I think to my current setup which is RTi10, CSi40, T90e, velodyne dls3750r. To my ears the polk setup sounds much better. I did a side by side comparison and favored the polk's to the B&Ws. I am however now interested once again in upgrading. I have looked into the higher end B&W lineup, Paradigm Studio's and Polk's LSi's.
I am kind of biased towards Polk as I currently own them and favored them over the B&Ws. The 4 ohm rating and low efficiency is of no concern for me as I have enough amps with enough power to support just about any speaker I can afford.
Any help would be appreciated.Picture - VZIO Plasma/Source - Panasonic DMP-BD10/receiver - Yamaha RX-V863/Center - CSi40/Fronts - RTi10/Surrounds - T90e(same as monitor 60)

Hi! I've used RTi12 and LSi25 side by side powered by the same kind of amp (each pair powered by Pioneer Elite M-91) for both HT and 2 Channel listening.
Likewise, I've also used Csi5 and LSiC side by side powered by Parasound amp. I only used Csi5 briefly and replaced with another LSiC due to space restraint.
While used for movies, there is NO or even very little difference can be heard between RTi12 and LSi25. But when used for DVD Audio, SACD and 2 channel (Stereo) music, I found LSi25 sounds clearer in vocals and highs. LSi series has a more laid back sounding and not very bright. Some people may find it a bit too dull sounding since the highs are not sharp enough for them. RTi12 has brighter highs since it use a different dome tweeter but vocals are not as clears as in the LSi25. I personally think LSi25 laid back sound is not fatiguing and you could spend a whole day listening to it. Having said that, I've heard a few people here have modified crossover in LSi speakers and that brings out mids (vocal) from LSi better and opens up the highs (which I found a little lacking).
On the other hands, RTi12 is a very nice speaker for money. Before I compared LSi25 and RTi12 side by side, I think RTi12 is also very good speakers and I really enjoyed it. I don't mind using RTi12 along LSi25 at all but I wanted to use all LSi so I swapped out the RTi12 for another pair of LSi25. RTi12 will be put for sale or given a rest till I need later since I think it's excellent speaker for both HT duty and for 2 channel.
While I've heard higher end B&W speakers in the high end stores, I think they are good but I don't want to spend the kind of money they are asking.
Paradigm speakers are also very nice but for the price point, I think LSi is hard to beat unless you get a good deal on the Paradigm.
LSi speakers sound very differently based on the amplifier you paired them with. I think you should experiment a few amplifiers with LSi speakers on your own.
Good Luck with your Audio Adventure!Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:
