I see a remake is out in theaters June 12. I'm very interested in this one. Denzel Washington and John Travolta in the leading roles with Tony Scott directing.

Looking forward to this theatrically -- I am a fan of the original, and the trailers for this look exciting...
I'm wondering if MGM is planning on re-releasing the original in a new DVD edition or possibly Blu-ray; the lone DVD version of this is sorely lacking, with a stripped-down presentation and mono audio track.
Does anyone have any information on whether or not the original will be re-released in conjunction with the remake?
