I emailed him last week and got 5 responses to my questions. This is his second time posting these speakers. From the picture they look decent. A little TLC they'll be great speakers. I was going to drive down there and he said they're not worth driving 14hrs. A couple hundred bucks and they'll be like new.

These are about 5 miles away from me if anybody needs a Polkie to pick up or take a look at........

I'd be willing to pay you to atleast take a look and see if they're worth driving 14 hrs.

No payment period. It's classic Polkies helping other Polkies, comes with the territory. ;)

Just LMK where he's at and I'll take it from there. Let's try to keep them in the family.

For $500 they are worth picking up. The cabnets are worth that alone IMO.

That is bad Karma. When others have posted interest and then someone bids up it is bad form.

John it's going to be very hard for you to get SDA 1.2's if you have no way to pick them up.

I was emailing him back and forth earlier this week. He mentioned a NY run, so he may not respond immediately. From his email:

    *****

I moved the speakers today to my brother's garage in Tega
    Cay,SC. They smell pretty smokey.

(I commented on smoke smell a likely deal-breaker if it's in the wood - had a pinball machine and after 2+ years and multiple efforts, still smelled like smoke when I lifted the playfield or opened the coin door) He replied:

It's probably mainly on the cloths which can be replaced.I had a mattress that smelled like cig smoke.I aired it outside for a couple of days and it disappeared.

here's some pics.flash makes the wood look a bit nicer than it is right now.

    *****

I chose not to purchase due to condition (need a third SRS for Center Channel) Anyone have an extra?

Target. Some light sanding and a fresh coat of clear should take care of the smoke smell. Grill cloth can be replaced. Do not pass these up if you have the means. PLEASE
