I don't know why, but I decided to shut the HT down for the weekend, pull out the 2 channel gear and roll old school

Today:

Nakamichi CA-5 pre amp (just bought from heiney) not sure how old. Big thanks to heiney, this baby is sweet. No remote, just like the old days.

Kenwood KD-2550 (I'm the original owner) 20 + years old. Can't roll old school without some vinyl.

Sony DVP S300 CD/DVD player (original owner) bought it in 1998, never had a problem with it. Still sounds good.

Parasound HCA 2200ii amp. (original owner) 14 + years old and still a beast.

Hooked up to a pair of LSi9's and LSi7's side by side (not bad). HCA 2200 powering the 9's and a Halo A23 powering the 7's from the two ouputs on the Nakamichi.

On the menu:
Oregon - Out of the Woods - Vinyl (first heard this when I was 16)
Aerosmith - Rocks, Toys in the Attic - Vinyl
The Ohio Players - Fire - Vinyl
David Bowie - Pinups - Vinyl
Seal - Seal - CD
U2 - Acthung Baby - CD
The Doors - Morrison Hotel, The Doors - CD/Vinyl.
Black Sabbath - Paranoid - CD.
Van Morrison - Moondance - CD.

Feeling nostalgic. Lovin it.

Sounds like fun. You may want to try to listen to only one pair at a time. Shouild reduce cancellations and some distortion.

Thanks. I'm going back and forth too. The 7's are pretty good by themselves. I guess I'm just bored but playing with gear/music relaxes me.

Enjoy that pre-amp. One of my favorites. Glad it made it to you in one piece. Had some bad luck recently with a cdp I sold (shipping damage).
