Got birded by a scammer

Trying to sell an Xbox on my local CL and during the email traffic regarding a potential purchase I was sent this by a scammer when I called her out.

    That's great! I just received two phony checks from the same scammer. Wanted me to do the whole 'give their buyer $1,800 after depositing their $2,000 phony check' scam. This would have been handy......

    .....It was at least nice that they wasted money on 2 UPS 2nd day deliveries and got nothing from me. I guess unfortunately, he'll make it up on some other poor person that falls for it.

    Hey my mom got the same thing, it was two $10,000 checks and wanted her to cash it at post office or bank same day recieved mail. She immediately went to P.O to turn in the fake checks and Supervisor asked her how she got it, she gave all info to capture that guy but never heard from PO after that. I hope they put stop to these scammers....

    To anyone, if you get fake checks and proceed to cash it, you will be involved in scamming and will go to Jail as accessory. SO BEWARE!!

    Our Credit Union has signs posted inside and sometimes asks if you know the person you got your checks (that you're depositing) from. It sure is buyer and seller beware these days with a lot more desperate people out of work and looking for money.
