From their About Us page - "the Circuit City brand lives on as a member of the Systemax group of companies effective May 19, 2009."

Someone just bought the name... Brand recognition is where it's at. They probably just slapped this front end on their existing website...
    Ludicrous gibs!

All Circuit City used to carry were the Monitor and then briefly the TSi line. No RTi's /A's, LSIs, nothing. Fry's is where it's at.

Agreed though, even if only in name, it's nice to see some extra competition. If only they would reopen some of the retail stores; get rid of the Best buy monopoly in my area.

I used to have a profile and account # on circuitcity.com, tried to pull it out but no dice. Has anyone else can confirm if their profile still exist?
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

CompUSA has a sales center here in Dallas. But pricing still stinks, so why do they bother? Brand recognition only counts if it denotes a POSITIVE image!

We have two compusa stores here in Tampa and Clearwater Fl. I think they beat the hell out of best buy for like items. They are owned by tiger direct and price match all thier on line stuff. Check it out at tigerdirect.com

CompUSA is a brand Tiger Direct picked up and use for e-sales. There are some on line differences in offerings, but not much.

It doesn't suprise me that someone has picked up the Circuit City name. The store they had in my area pretty well sucked as far as diversity of offering went from day 1. Emphasis areas were just all wrong... at least for what I always seemed to be looking for. When they did have something I wanted, they were competitive though.

I used to have an account with them too....but I doubt any of the info is still there...I'll try it. I'm pretty sure they wiped everything clean at the very end.

I'm also bummed that just about all they have going in HT is HTIB. WHERE ARE THE SPEAKERS??

This gets us back to another thread here, about higher end audio...future or no future.

Does this mean now that they're offering the combination of the Circuit City "never getting any discounts on pricing" with Tiger Direct's "figure out any way not to honor a rebate"?

I just got an e-mail from them so they must still have all our old info . I don't think related to Tiger Direct as they own the old compusa. I might be wrong?
