I`am trying to put together a 7.1 system, so far I picked up a pair of RT55 for fronts, a csi3 for center and PSW450 for the SW. Now I trying to pick up some surrounds for my system. What would be the best ones for this setup? Thanks

You could also use the RT35i RT25i FXi3. there are a few others but these 3 would work. you could also use 2 more CSi3's if you wanted to. With the what you have any of these and what Rodeo posted will work just fine.

Also if you could find 2 pair of the FXi3's you would be set with the RT55's.

Polk Audio Direct has a few white ones on ebay if the color is no big deal to you.

Thanks guys. These Rt55 are the old ones without the i. Will the surrounds with the i in it work? Thanks

Does that receiver provide full bandwith power to all channels? If it doesn't, then that could also be a factor in speaker selection. I found this out the hard way with a Sony I had before, but I'm not that familiar with their more current receivers:confused:
    Sony 40" LCD
    Sony DVPCX995V
    Sony PS3(games/media server)
    Sony PS2
    WD TV Live with 3TB

    Polk 11T(xover/RDO)
    RM20 5 pack
    OWM 5
    DUAL Micro Pro 1000
    Combastard Cable
    Harmony One

    Fx1000's, Fx500's, fx300's, RT38's, RT35, more RT55's. You could use the "i" variants, also...

Try to find ones with the same trilam tweeters, Better blending

I checked the specs on Sony's site, and it is full bandwidth, so that's a plus. The realistic power rating is 95watts two channels driven at .09 THD. The ratings that are on the box, and advertised are at a higher distortion, which would be undesirable. It should be fine with all the speakers suggested from what I can tell. I would definitely consider the efficiency of the speakers you purchase, the higher the better with that receiver. It should be fine for now, but I would suggest the next upgrade after the speakers be the receiver though. Just my 2 cents. Good luck:)

A friend of mine told me that floor stander speakers are the idea speakers for surround channel. I just want to know what the pros and cons having floor stander as surround speaker. Actually have anyone here try these.

I had the RT55i's for the fronts RT35i's for my side's and the FXi3's for the rears with good results on my old system. anything you do as mentioned above will work great. if you can pull off any of the FX series surround speakers that would even be more ideal.

    Good Luck..

I feel your pain my friend:D This forum is an awesome group of people with alot of useful information. I've learned more in my short time as a member than with all the other forums combined. You will find that not only are the people very helpful and understanding of our ignorance, but Polk has one of the most helpful, and knowledgeble CS departments out there, especially for the coin. ALL HAIL CLUB POLK!:D:D Seriously though, I started with a Sony HTIB for GOD(and or satan)'s sake! I have move lightyears ahead in just a few short months. It all started with an insignificant purchase on CL, and now this forum is on my daily checklist. ENJOY!
