How would you rate the phono pre in this? Would it be very expensive to try something that could potentially be better? Or is it pretty darn good and you'd have to drop a lot of coin to do better?
It runs into an Adcom 555ii to polk rta8tl's. Oh, and the TT is a realistic Lab 400 with a Shure m97xe cartidge. I know this is all fairly mid-fi, so is a phono pre a realistic plan to improve or should I just not worry about it with this level of associated equipment? I'm really not unhappy with the sound, just inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks in advance.

NAD usually included decent phono sections in their pre's so I doudt it would be the limiting factor.Testing
