f/x500i good surround match for the SDA-SRS 2 ?

We are moving to a new place and depending on which room the wife gets me and teh square footage, I will either have the 11TLs or the SDA-SRS2s as mains.

I have an opportunity to pick up a pair of the f/x500i surounds- would you consider them a good match with these speakers ?

using them as surrounds with 2.3tl's and they sound just fine,

I like mine with my SRS 2's They sound Great!!

Question to you guys- are any of you using a 7.1 setup ? If so do you have teh same speakers for rears and surrounds ? Whats your setup would love to know.


Thanks, picked them up last night. Only they turned out to be the f/x500 and not the 500i. Now have to wait to put them up in the new place!

Hey Azi, right now that 7th channel ( Surround Back ) isnt used very much...you can really use anything back there without much concern...now the surround channel is very much used and really important.

Most of the 7.1 channel blu rays ( Most of them 7.1 DTS-HD Master audio ) dont use that channel anywhere near its potential, actually the best one so far was The Golden Compass blu ray....and most of the surround information still goes to the surround channel. Hopefully they come around to using that surround back channel more in the future.

I still have both of my setups as 7 channel though ( 7.5 in the living room and 7.3 in the bedroom ) , and have tried numerous pairs of speakers in the surround back position...if your calibration is spot on and you dont set the surround back channel hot then you dont notice much change back there.

In the living room I use custom CRS+'s as surrounds and in wall Audio Concepts as the surround backs...in the bedroom I use SDA 2b's as the surrounds and AV123 ELT525M's as the surround backs.

I was eyeing those f/x 500's on craigslist....are those the ones you picked up ? Good score if you did....the price sure was right

Do you still use the interconnect cable on the 2B's? I have wondered if you guys that use the SDA's as surrounds still use the interconnect and if it helps any.

Since the SDA arrangement is still the same no matter facing at or away in reference to the speakers ( Stereo inside...dimensional outside ) , I have always used the IC.
