Some higher end ones do. Mass market you are lucky to get replacement parts never mind upgrades. Speaking of upgrades I have to get back to work;)
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

    Larry,

I assume you are speaking of the RD0 tweets. Polk didn't offer these as an "upgrade" they turned out to sound better because of newer materials and processes available today.

The Sl2500 and Sl3000 were discontinued because the process of laying the "trilaminate" material required cyanide and other harmful chemicals.

Faced with the lack of getting the older tweeters produced, Polk R&D worked to make a suitable replacement using a "silk" dome type tweeter.

They didn't set out to offer an upgraded part...............they set out to offer a replacement for the orginal that would work...........and it turned out that they did fix some of the shortcomings ofr the original tweeter (sl2000).

Matt Polk "The SL2000 was not my favorite tweeter". Polkfest06-Doro.

Polk Audio was interested in delivering good sound to the mass market at affordable prices, they never wanted to be an uber-fi speaker company, in fact they have trained many a budding audiophile/hobbiest in what goes into making a nice speaker, many have moved on to other speakers at a different level when this happens folks at Polk have told me they feel as though they have done their job.

I have many different types of speakers, but believe me some Polk speakers are always in the house.
