Used LSi 15's
Considering a used pair of 15's. Original owner purchased in 2003. Does anyone know if there have been any changes since these were purchased? What should I look for on demo?
Thanks,
Fred

I think the older models just have a lighter finish to the wood...
Just check for the usual: frozen woofers, blown tweeters, scratches or dents on corners, edges, etc.SDA 1C, SDA 2A, SDA SRS 2, CMT-340SE, Swan M200MKII, Swan D1080MKII, Behringer MS40

How do I check for frozen woofers and blown tweeters? Anything else I need to check for?
Thanks for the help. -
are you buying them local? If so just go hear them, they should sound excellent given adequte power and as long as the owner does not run them with some wierd rig including destroying the audio signal with un-needed devices.
if you want to check the drivers you gently place your fingers around the drivers near the edges close to the surrounds and gently push in, you should not feel any scratchiness, however, one word of caution, if you did this to mine without first asking I would likely take your head off, the owner may want to demonstrate theirself, but the best bet is to hear them and then look at them for obvious defects. Many a newb has dented the cone of driver pushing it in with their finger, so do not do that, especially careful around the tweeter.
I would check the back binding posts where the speaker wire goes in they should be tight and not flopping around, there should be some type of gold plated connector between the top and bottom posts unless it has been replaced or the speakers are bi-wired.
