best db meter

hey guys, after trying to use the onboard audessy with my onkyo 607 and having no luck ive decided to buy a spl or db meter . can you recomend a cheap one thats up to the job, also how do you use them? i am not clued up yet and new to the world of audio tweekin

+1. Do some searches on here. Mine broke years ago and never bought a new one. They use to be +1,2/-1,2 db off on the reading from what i recall.

There was a calibration chart available online(for the digital RS meter, at least) to get it within +/- 1dB.
