Guys,
I've just received my LSi9 today, and noticed these differences as compared to Crutchfield home page. For those LSi9 owners, did you notice this too? I am attaching this picture from Crutchfield...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

And this one...(I used ATC's LSi9 picture since it is handy, and serve the purpose for comparison. I hope you don't mind, Sean, btw, mine looks exactly the same as this except it is ebony side)...

What DO YOU think? Anybody care to explain? Thanks....

    Yes, there are two "versions"

The first run of the LSi9 had a beveled top/bottom. The second run is flat on the top/bottom.

That's the only difference. I liked the first run better, but they did not fit on my stands real well.

    Steve,
thanks for the explanation. So, do they still sell first run model?..what do you mean that it doesn't fit on your stands? I am curious..

Steve is right about the versions. One other small difference is the driver/tweeter placement. The drivers and tweet are closer together on the beveled version.

I have one of each. The ebony are not beveled, the cherry are.

Polkatese, the beveled bottom has a smaller footprint than the non-beveled version. Mine are actually somewhat unstable on my stands as well but they are stuck in the rear near a wall and I have no pets, so they seem safe for the moment. ;)

So Phuz, other than cosmetic differences, did you notice any other diff. between the two? Interesting to note that most of the pictures out there has the first run (borrowing Steve's term) and yet, I don't believe they differentiate the model when you order one...hmm

Nah there aren't any other differences and I wouldn't be concerned. The second version only has maybe an extra inch of width on the bottom.

So you got the first version? Where did you get em from?

Phuz, no, I've got the "flat" top (non-beveled) version, did search on the forum and get the scoop as explained by Paul DiComo sometimes back. Great readings (see the link below)

I suppose by now, all productions have been converted to flat/non-beveled version.

I've got mine from Sounddistributors....hopefully this purchase should conclude my irrational obsessions with the LSi...

Sean, use the black touch up metallic black car paint to cover it, it works! (yes, I know, I invented the word "anal") Did you notice that the craftmanships is not as clean as it should be? oh, well I guess that why it's called mass production....
