questions about db 1040 dvc subs

how do the subs sound? I just purchased them online from crutchfield and never have owned any polk products before. Clarity is more important to me than bass and i will be installing them in a 2007 chevy cobalt with a 1200 watt sony xplod amp. I hope I made the right decision with these subs. any info would be great thanks
