I recently purchased this on Blu-Ray and I must say that this is by far one of the best concert discs that I have seen/heard since "Rush in Rio". Any fan of blues music or John Mayer will be very happy to have added this to their collection. This disc is heavy on the blues side but if you are a fan of John's guitar playing (sounds like Hendrix and SRV but not as raw) you will want to pick this up.

The concert starts out with John doing an accoustic set of five songs including:

Neon, Stop This Train, In Your Atmosphere, Daughters, Free Fallin'

The next set is John and his blues side project, "The John Mayer Trio" and includes 9 songs:

Everyday I Have The Blues, Wait Until Tomorrow, Who Did You Think I Was, Come When I Call, Good Love Is On The Way, Out Of My Mind, Vultures, Paparazzi, Bold As Love

The third set is the pop side of John with the rest of his band and includes 9 songs:

Waiting On The World To Change, Slow Dancing In A Burning Room, Why Georgia, The Heart Of Life, I Don't Need No Doctor, Gravity, I Don't Trust Myself (With Loving You), Belief, I'm Gonna Find Another You

Picture Quality:

Not all Blu-Rays have perfect picture quality but this one is very close to the best I have seen, especially for a concert. The cameras are out of focus more than a few times and during "Gravity" there are a couple times where I can see rips in the picture.

Overall Score: 1.5 (Going by AVS forum scale. 0 being best, 5 being worst)

Sound Quality:

Formats- Dolby True HD 5.1, PCM Stereo 2.0

I am simply blown away by the SQ on this disc. I am in Iraq so I cannot listen to this on the rig at home but I have a decent computer setup and this disc sounds amazing. John plays live just like he sounds on his albums with the added "live flair" you would expect from a quality performer. The lossless 2 channel is by far the best I have heard from any concert disc and anyone with a decent system will be blown away by the seperation of channels in the 5.1 track. I can't wait to hear this one at home.:D

Overall Score: 0

Pros:

Pristine sound quality
Good overall video quality
Great mix of styles with acoustic, blues, pop

Cons:

Could have better selection of songs (in my opinion)

Nice review. Now I'm tempted to go buy a BR player and this disc.

As soon as I ripped open my "Where the Light Is" Live DVD I watched it all the way through. John manages to capture the audience with new tweakings of his top songs. The man continues to amaze me because he is his own worst critic and he is never satisfied, which ends up being a treat for anyone willing to be a fan for years. This DVD contains numerous songs in which he expands and elaborates his vocals..top notch John, top notch. Buy this- you won't be disappointed.
