I'm all EARS on this one, literally, because it's going to be a very subjective preference ride. I haven't heard VM30s so not comment there.

I've been wondering why VM towers get so little press 'here'? While Def Tech Mythos speakers have a small fan following? (OK they do have built in subs--but you can use external subs with the VMs).

Rti-A9 are a great choice for both movies and music--I think they're better for music than anything else in that series which I find a bit too bright. The 9s are the least bright and slam the hardest on the bottom end. In terms of full range speaker the VMs can't match the 9s bottoms!

Let's wait and see what VM30 owners think...where are you guys????

I own a pair of vm30 speakers and I think there great. The stage imageing on these speakers are crazy good. The only thing that makes me want to get A9's are all the great reviews I have been reading about them. I have never heard the A9's in person nmor are there any stores near me so that i could do a listening comparison. Thats why I was asking any one with experience with the a9's to comment. If they are that good I will sell my vm30's and pick up the A9's. So anyone whats are you guys opinion.? I am new to the polk family

I have zero experience in HT and I just bought a VM20 for use as a center. I bought it strictly because it was cheap ($169 @ newegg) and also because it is small compared to most center speakers. I don't know what others I'll use for fronts & surrounds but I definitely won't end up with a voiced/matched set-up. I really only care about my 2channel being the best that I can afford, and just want to improve on the sound that the 2 tinny speakers in my TV produce. I you decide to sell your VM30s I might be interested. I've never seen much discussion on the VM series, so I'd guess that they're not too popular with "hardcore" Polk users. Good luck whichever way you decide to go !:)

Well i have the A9's but have never had the chance to listen to the VM30's. I would also like to hear what others have to say, not that i will give up my A9's even if the VM's were considered better. The A9's KICK ****!! IMHO, plus i think they look better then the VM's as well.

I have had my 30's,20's and micro 3000 for about 6 months.Using my RT10 and old PSW50 as SBR and SBL and 2nd sub.Power supplied by pioneer 1018ahk only.Highs and mids are very very good. Sub is a must.Room size is 25x16.Anyone I have had over with "musical ears" is very impressed with the VMs.These speakers take all the power I'm throwing at them with ease.Working on Momma bear for more power.Thinking of EMO 5 and EMO 2 for the 30's.Jimbos addicted.Have not heard the 9's.

Yeah i love the mids and high on these. I watched a couple movies and all i could do was say wow. However the A9's get some great reviews and they seem real powerful. So more comments on your exp with these bad boys please. Also thanks for the ones that were already given
