There is someone local selling a pair of Polk Speakers that he insists are RT 11A's. Is there such a beast or is it probably an RTA 11T or TL? Is there any way to tell which \ what it is from a picture?

I have asked them to send me a photo with the grills off and hope to get it tomorrow. He wants $100 for the pair. No idea of condition at this point (or worth of that line of speakers). if I get them, it would be to replace the Monitor 10's in my basement rig. Would it be a worthwhile upgrade or more of a lateral move?

I will post a pic once I get it.

Thanks,

Michael

There was a model RTA 11 which were similar in driver layout to the RTA 12's. The RTA 11T stood for "tower" and TL which stood for "Trilaminate" using the sl2500 or sl3000 tweeter. RTA was for Real Time Array

I am not aware of the RT 11A. A pic most certainly would help.

Check this thread............especially post #10 from our esteemed Victor.

    I'd say a lateral move

Just pick them up knowing that you're picking up RTA 11. Don't listen to the lunacies of a man who doesn't know what he's talking about. That's a decent price. And as far as I know, the RTA 11T are supposedly as good if not better than the Monitor 10. From what people have been saying, anyways.

RTA 11 a/k/a Monitor 11 are NOT the same as RTA 11T or RTA11TL. I do agree the RTA11T or TL are the better of the bunch.

RTA 11's are very similar to Monitor 10's except the cabinet is larger and the PR is like the RTA 12.
