Several pair on ebay for $129. I need some outdoor speakers for my front patio. Has anyone heard them? Own them?

Great little speakers Ron. Obviously a little on the bass-shy end of the spectrum. Found them a little bright at first, but they smoothed out after a little use.

WELL worth the price on Ebay, HOWEVER, if you want a little more low-end, I *think* you can still bag some M2's for $109.

I own both, M2's in the garage rig, Atrium 45 as rears in the HT.

    Cheers,

How would the M2's do outside, say under the eve's? Being that they are outside, I'm not too concerned with bass, just mainly want them for low level background music.

The M2's were designed as indoor/outdoor speakers, they should fair well. I think the Atrium was built to be a little *tougher*, built to Military specs and all.

Both have built-in brackets, the Atriums are a little smaller, and would make for more of a stealth install, if that concerns you. As I said, tradeoff is in the <100Hz response, with the obvious edge to the M2's.

Low level background music, toss up really. Either would be fine.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I did a install last year for a guy down the street. He got a set of 45's free on the Polk promotion when we got his polks. He gave them to me as a payment. They sat in the garage until last week. We are finishing the basement and I got an idea while I was working on the bathroom Sat. night. Why not put them in the Bathroom.
So I ran the wire for them and will install when finished. I also ran wire to my wife's office for a set of LSi 7's. I think the storage room will be the only Polk free Zone in the house. Mark

Ron, I know you have had a lot of goings-on as of late, but trying to keep it light, thats all.

Did you make a decision, leaning one way or the other?

Still on the fence. I'm holding off several weeks on the purchase as we are getting a new roof soon and I do not want them up until the roofers are long gone. Plus, I gotta see how much this roof is going to set us back when complete. I know I've got some facia board and some starter board that needs replacing that will be an added expense.

Although, maybe I should buy them before the final roof bill comes in....

I'll let ya know the outcome in a few weeks. The CC down the street from the office has the 45's on display, just haven't made it over for a listen yet.

    RonP,

Did you ever come to a decision about your outdoor speaker situation concerning the Atriums? Did you ever "pull the trigger" and go for it? I am currently in the same boat, with trying to decide on some speakers for the backyard. I could probably get a good deal on the Atriums from a close friend but I don't know of anyone who has them installed who could shed some light on their performance. Searches on the net say that they are a little "bass shy".
Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support
group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar.

My Dad has the Antrium 55's. They can feel up a good amount of space within a 40 foot radius. They are awesome little speakers, after a little break in time they really sing now. They stay clean and sound perfect for what their used for. They sound alot like Polk's home speakers. They have a wider soundstage if you ask me though.

I heard a pair of these at Circuit City and they sounded pretty good. I have been thinking about getting a set for my surrounds as well. Ebay seems like the place to get them for a good price.
