Saw D. Darko but have heard this one is just a cheap sequel, and not very good I think people who liked D. Darko will be very disappointed.

Keep in mind that Donnie Darko was kind of a cheap film itself. S. Darko is about on par with it, and was actually pretty interesting. However, it has kind of a "been there, done that" feel to it... and feels very much like they're trying to mimic the style of the first movie (while seemingly completely ignoring Southland Tales' place in the continuity). Still, it's not awful. It just isn't as fresh and unique as the original.Equipment list:
Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
Epson 8500UB 1080p projector

Well I never thought D. Darko was a cheap film, I saw it when it first released on video before I even heard anything of it being a cult film. So my observation of the film wasn't tainted with other people's opinions. But like I said I haven't seen this sequel, but similar to what you said kuntasensei is what I have been reading in other reviews of the film. It sounds more of a movie to cash in on the first movie, so Im going to give this one a pass.
