I found this kewl application and it works pretty well. It maps your course, speed, miles and even elevation and calories and keeps track of your workouts on their site. I like it a lot and it's only $10.

That kind of stuff seems more oriented to use on a treadmill which already does that, it's cool but not revolutionary.

I find no issues keeping track of my course when using a treadmill, but then my Mom's always told me I'm smart.

It won't work on a treadmill. It's a GPS tracker. AS far as it's concerned on a treadmill you are standing still.

That post doesn't even make sense, why would a GPS be useful on a treadmill?

I really like "TrailGuru" (http://www.trailguru.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) which sounds like a very similar program though more tailored to hikers. Tracks location, average speed, elevation, etc, and lets you upload your path to their website.

The only problem is, on a long enough hike, it KILLS your battery pretty quick.

    Trailguru is free. http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=289333140&mt=8
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Methinks someone isn't really reading posts so they may contribute intelligently, but rather posting haphazardly for some reason......

    But what do I know.
