i got nothing to house my onkyo 607 and i was wondering what you guys thought of this.. the MARANTZ RM7001 equipment rack on amazon right now for a super low price? , i know the onkyo runs very very hot from what i am told on here, would this be too closed in for the onkyo 607? i only watch movies for 2 and 4 hours at any given time

It's hard to tell from the pics exactly how much 'clearance' the Onkyo would have..but I suspect not 'enough'. With Onkyos it's best to just have them on the top shelf breathing freely or on the very bottom with more than a half foot of clearance. They run hot and they WILL fry any equipment above them--even if that equipment has a wooden shelf between it and the Onkyo? I took out a DVD player with an Onkyo a couple of years ago. Overheated the player and knocked out the laser.

I highly suggest lots of clearance or NOTHING above the unit! Some Onkyos have been measured with temps in the mid-130s!! And even higher....that's HOT!

Get some fans, Knucklehead is right. A small but good quality fan(s) over or immediately behind the Onkyo will cool it down!
