Hey.. told Russ I'd post a pic of the speakers I made using the drivers from the KLH 853Bs. KLH sent me the T/S parameters so I was able to work with the box rather than just copy KLH's. I ended up with a larger box and less stuffing. They sound very nice, actually. Lack the Polk midrange that I like, but the bass is very tight and punchy and they don't try to do what they can't do, so little distortion on the low end. I couldn't place the sound at first, but I think it is just plain old acoustic suspension. I've been listening to PR Polks for so long.
Anyway, cabinets are as simple as it gets.. painted MDF. But they blend in nicely in the tight quarters of our upstairs play/familyroom.

Oh, no.. it isn't levitating. The speakers are on the wall with the woofers on top because they're so high.. so, I just flipped the photo. They are a mirror-image pair, made to sit the way the photo shows. -
