Klipsch cf-4
Wondering if these are any good and how do they sound? Seems to be very efficient 8 ohm speakers. 102db @1 watt/1 meter. Your thoughts?
Thanks

How much $ are they?

I love my Klipsch Classic KG4's but that is a lot of cash to drop.
Never heard the cf-4, but those port holes at the bottom scare me! -
do you know what the regular price was?

Don't care.
Yes I do...how much? -

I think the org. price was $3000.00. $1200.00 seems a little high.:eek:Linn AV5140 fronts

Is that $3000 for the whole system or just the cf-4's? -

Polk sucks
They might not piss the neighbors off 2, or 3 blocks away, but man do they get the timbre right.:p -

I think just for the CF-4s.
If that price is for the whole system,go for it:DLinn AV5140 fronts

Leroyjr,
It's nice to have more efficient speakers but there could be a potential for higher noise floor. You may hear slight hiss / buzz / hum from the speakers depending on the gears you used.
Also, try listening to horn loaded speakers in a store before you buy this. Horns are fatiguing to some people at prolonged listening periods.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

Klipsch will probably be OK for a home theater, but if it's two channel you are looking for there is better in the same price range. I have yet to hear a Klipsch speaker that sound good on a wide range of music. PSB, or Paradigm would be a much better choice.

Agreed, but even in that application my comments above still hold true. Personally, I would rather own a Polk product any day over Klipsch. The only person that would say that Polk sucks is most likely looking for something above mid-fi. -
Buy them Lee; bet the seller will take much less in this pitiful economy.

Why? The RTiA9 are the the best sounding of the series.
I was using them in my basement as HT/music all in one and when I got my 2.3's I didn't need such a big speaker for HT. My A5's combined with my dual Micropro 4000 subs were a match made in heaven for HT. Now Im running my 2.3's and A5's side by side and running a Rotel pre/ amp combo for music and elite SC-07 for HT.
I also wanted a simple easy to use system I could run off a receiver that way if my daughter and girlfriend wanted to watch a movie they just had to hit one button on the Harmony remote, pop the movie in and enjoy. -

Hi. I have a Klipsch center channel speaker that is very similar to the one that is mentioned. This looks like a step up from mine so I can only assume it will be just as good.....if not better. Here is a link to the thread on the one I have. After having it for a few months I decided to switch back to a Polk center for **** and giggles. I watched a movie with it and needless to say I am back to using the Klipsch. The thing I really like about this center is the clarity of the dialog and how crisp everything sounds. It compliments the 'warmness' of my 10s very well imo. The only downside is it's a different color than my Polk M10b and this center channel is very BIG.

Those are some Big-A$$ speakers... but they remind my of JBL Pro equipment speakers for outdoor concerts! If nothing else they must put out HUGE gobs of sound....now 'good' sound may be another matter. Might be OK for HT!
