Could anyone advise at to what receiver I should get for these two items: surroundbar 50 and dsw pro 600? I will also be hooking up a direct tv hd dvr and xbox 360 via hdmi to the receiver and hdmi to samsung tv. Thanks in advance

Almost anything would fit the bill...kind of a loaded question. I'm partial to the Onkyo TSX-SR series for that loudspeaker.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Onkyo TSX-SR605 would be my pick....anything higher in the line, the better.

Hey dorokusai, one more quick question I hope. On the specs or the surroundbar, its saying 150 per channel so 5 total. I haven't seen a 5.1 receiver with that much wattage per channel. A 7.1 wouldn't transfer those unused channels over would it? Thanks again

You don't need that much power anyways, don't worry about it.

Thanks for the comments and help dorokusai and xcapri79. Looks like I'll just have to decide bw the pioneer and onkyo.

I second the Onkyo suggestion. As Doro said, the 605/606, or any of the models above that point will work well, the higher the model the better it will be. Just work within your budget.

Just be aware that the 605/606 doesn't have pre-amp outs, so you won't be able to hook up an external amp in the future.

That aside, it's a great entry level AVR.

The prices on the 606 are coming down quite a bit now, with the release of the 607. There are a lot of great deals to be had on refurb units on ebay as well.
