Man if Orlando had Jameer Nelson playing how strong would they look? I know it doesn't matter because Nelson can't go but they sure are hot at the right time, which is what its all about in the playoffs.

The Cavs are playing tight, likely because they rolled through the first two rounds so easily and lost some rhythm with the extra time off.

I'm gonna wait until the finals matchups to pick an NBA champ; it could be any combination of these final four in the finals!

Dante Jones is a big ****. If you can't guard Kobe just push him from behind or trip him? Play rough, sure, its the playoffs. But this guy is a joke.

The only thing that's a joke is the Lakers' lack of killer instinct. Once again, another lackluster year for a team ready to "break out". Kinda like the Cavs...

Yeah the Lakers have never had dirty plays:rolleyes: I am sure you think the Raiders play within the rule book as well. Please!!

I am also sure if Dante Jones was a Laker and he did those two plays on Carmelo Anthony we would not be reading your post.

19 point win for Denver without Melo scoring 30+ points.

The technical on Kmart when he was tied up with Gasol should have been a double technical. Althought this is a series that is not going to be decided by the officials.

Wednesday night's game will be the deciding game although neither team has really shown that they can win 2 in a row against each other.

Yes, he is. But, then again, no more so than the rest of the classless, clueless, low-lifes, that he calls teammates.

Impartial observers of this series have to admit that the Nuggets are just a bunch of street thugs. The referees are handing out technicals on Lakers players (Walton, Fisher) after they are assaulted by Denver players? Come on, the league is going to have to review these game tapes and clean that crap up.

If the Nuggets are what the NBA wants as a representative in their finals, they have a real problem. Their hideous tattoos, dirty play, show-boating, and taunting might give them "street cred", but it won't bring advertizing and a middle-class audience to their televisions..

OKay first off let me say I am a Nugget fan. Born and raised in Denver, my last playoff game I went to was surprisingly when the Nuggets played the Lakers in 85'.

Dave what you say is true, but on the other hand the Nuggets have really done this all year long.

    1) Their Tattoo's have nothing to do with their basketball skills. And IF (a big IF) the Nuggets win this series it will be based on three things...A) Denver has a superior bench/role players than the Lakers do. B) The Lakers having to go seven games against Houston could be their downfall. C) The constant in your face commercial promotion of a Laker/Cavs finals is just sickening, and players from Denver and Orlando are starting to speak out against it, and is making this a motivational factor that the NBA cannot control.

    2) Denver's thuggish play is there for a reason. They are intimidating a team that is based on finesse play and players. Kenyon Martin did it in game one against the Mavericks. He pushed Dirk to the floor after he tried to go to the rim, and Dirk for the most part did not want any part of that the rest of the series. If you listen to players like Derek Fischer and Bynum, they have both stated there are no easy baskets against Denver with their defense. Every shot is being contested. So basically Denver is in their heads after 4 games. They know Denver is going to be all over them.

So sure Denver is not you middle class average team. But I have to say they have been a joy to watch this post season for me. Like them or not they now have a legit chance to win this series. If they can pull out game 5, their chances of a finals appearance increase to 85%.

I love the physical style of play Denver is known for!

When I was a ball player, I did the same thing to intimidate my opponents. I could not shoot 3's very well, my foul shot % was around 50%, I had no kind of jump shot worth mentioning. Basically I was a horrible shooter.:o

But I still dominated games with rebounding, blocked shots and intimidating defense. I would normally guard the other teams best player and shut him down.:D

Its easy to foul someone into the hospital. If you can't play the game without beating someone up, put your helmet and pads back on and stay on the field, not the court.

This is the equivalent of crashing your car into the best driver at the Indy 500because he is a better driver and has a faster car.

Don't you guys find it 'amusing' the way Orlando has been able to hang with the fearsome "Cavs". I'm not going to say anymore. But I don't think there are 'any' favorites anymore in this final 4! All bets are off!

Basketball is very physical game & intimidating opposing players by playing them tough & in their face is part of it. Even hard fouls are part of it.
Hack-a-shack comes to mind for some reason ....:D

I am not a Lakers fan but Kobe is to good to guard straight up for most ppl.Little trip/ shove in the back is all some ppl can do to slow him down..

They obviously didn't grow up in the same neighborhood as you , and calling them low-lifes is a bit steep. Street thugs? No. Basketball thugs? Yes.

If you followed basketball as early as last season this team with the exception of Billups, Dante Jones, and Iverson is exactly the same. They sucked, had good offense, but did not play any defense.

They improve their play greatly, they are more physical, causing turnovers, and playing as a team. Now they are thugs and low-lifes because they taunt, and celebrate? It's called emotion, all sports have it yes the taunting i'm not always a fan of, and they do get T'd up for it.

However the majority is good basketball, and it would be better for the NBA to have the best team play in the Finals.

Even Kobe himself says he likes the physical play, and to him its much less physical these days than in the past.

It sounds like a personality clash with you and the Nuggets, from a basketball standpoint it's very entertaining and competitive. As far as outside of basketball none of us know them personally, it would be foolish to try to assume you do.

I'm nothing close to a die-hard Nuggets fan, but I figure they are the most interesting and fun team to watch from the remaining 4, in my opinion.

I love Melo's silky jump-shot and he really has been playing tough D and rebounding as well, which is nice to see. Martin is very inconsistent in my book, but I thought his toughness and rebounding was great last night (totally impressive what he does on two fully reconstructed knees). Billups hasn't been "on" this series, but he's hit some threes, he settles things down when needed, pushes the tempo when needed, and always hits free throws down the stretch. Birdman is actually underrated, in my book, and gets tons of timely tip-ins on the offensive end. He can't match Gasol in the block (lacks size / strength), but his off the ball defense is great.

That being said, JR Smith drives me nuts every time he is on the floor. When he's not hititng, he's a black-hole on offense and takes terrible shots. When he is hitting, he'll immediately pound his chest and throw out MF-ers to everyone, talk trash to his defender, etc. Basically, he's a walking Technical foul time-bomb and takes all the momentum away from his (somewhat rare) successes.

If he would just play within the offense, keep driving and dishing, and keep quiet, he'd be a hell of a player. He also reaches in too much on defense and then cries when he gets called for it.

Also, bunch of cheap-shots from Denver (and some other teams). I like hacks and hard fouls as part of the game, not tripping and after the play type antics.

Playoffs have been tons of fun this year all the way around. Denver should be up 3-1 and Orlando up 3-0 the way both teams have played. I think LeBron is going to buy a one way ticket to NY, NJ, or other for 2010 if his team doesn't start contributing.

I did 10 years as a security guard at the CAA (Izod Center) for the Nets home games and for the most part players are quiet and reserved off-court. They are cordial to employees and fans and will hold general conversations when approached (if they are not with family/friends). Some players do have their "posses" but most are not at all what you would expect.

When Kmart was with the Nets, he would smile and acknowledge you on his way to the locker room before a game, and depending on the outcome of the game an his performance, would give you the same attitude on the way out.

During the Nuggets/Mavs serieas when Kmart put the hard foul on JKidd, afterwards he helped him up and put his arm around him as if to say no harm done.

There are a few real @ssholes who carry the "thug" mentality off-court, but for the most part they all seem to be decent guys.

Honestly, I really don't think David Stern cares if the Nuggets are in the Finals as an NBA "representative." Stern knows that a whole lot of the people that keep the NBA bank account positive are the same type of "thugs" that make up the Nuggets team. Just look at the number of NBA jerseys next time you roll through the ghetto. The fact that the NBA appeals to a wider audience base than any other major American sport goes to show that a) thugs need a sport also and b) basketball is the greatest sport on earth (screw futbol).
