Remember when we used to master the art of FPS in DOS over Netware 3.11 at the office?
Where is Wolfenstein when you need them?

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Maybe if they would have released Duke Nukem Forever when promised, not 10 years too late, this wouldn't have happened."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I remember having to edit config.sys and himem.sys and have different boot disks to play different games. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
hah, I knew that there are a bunch of network techies amongst us, who were busy with moving resident programs to the upper register of RAM, when RAM was precious and pricy. Those three files: config.sys, autoexec.bat, and himem.sys were critical files back in early 90's. How 'bout ccmail, wordperfect and wordstar? and then came DOOM God Mode!I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Sorry. In Doom there were a bunch of codes you could type for various "powers." They all started with "ID". The only two I remember are :
IDKFA : gives you all weapons with full ammo
IDSPISPOPD : gives you the ability to walk through walls
There was also God mode (I forget what the code was for that), and a few others.
EDIT : Full list here : http://www.faqs.org/faqs/games/doom/cheats/If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
ah, amazing that you still remember those cheats. I think I gave up DOOM in 1995 when my son was born.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

That brings back memories. I remember buying a few expansion packs for Doom. One came with a ridiculous amount of levels that I'm not sure if I ever completed."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

It wasn't the RAM price, rather than the 640kb original PC memory (conventional memory) limit. Some games required certain amount on the conventional memory, and that's why you loaded drivers in the upper memory. 'lh' whenever possible, people used to brag about how much free conventional memory they managed to get, that was the art form of "tweaking" back then. How 'bout ccmail, wordperfect and wordstar? and then came DOOM God Mode!
ccmail, no, pine, yes. tin, lynx... -

I believe it was 628, I can't remember for sure as it was a long time ago. -

The Invincibility cheat. It's out there. I had it. I can't remember it because I always mapped the command to IDGOD as in I'm the God or I da God!
I like some of the Warcraft cheats. Like one of them for the invincible mode is "WhoseYourDaddy" and "WarpTen" for a building speed increase.Expert Moron Extraordinaire
