Longer Remote Gain Control Cable?

So I just finished installing a PA1200.1 and PA500.4 amplifiers to drive my boat system but the remote gain control wires are a bit short. So I looked at the connectors and it looked like a 1:1 six wire telephone style connector so went to radio shack and bought a 25 footer (smallest they had). Plugged it all in and no go, the power light does not come on on the remote gain controller and it does not function.

Plugged the factory one in, and it works fine, bummer.

Anyone know how the wiring works on those so I can make the longer ones work?

Called Polk and they said it should work, grabbed the multimeter and started figuring the pinout of the raplacement cables I bought and although the colors of the wires in the connectors look right, they are actually not wired the same so had to clip the end and re-do it. Other issue now, see new thread :(
