Back in the USA...

That's right! BDT is back in the states and back on the forum.....as some of you know, I had serious issues getting on the forum in Korea, so I was incommunicado for the most part.

Anyhow, I'm back at home and loving life.

Been doing some reading and, JHC, what is this, freaking Oprah??

Couple of things: Don't feed the trolls, ignore them. (this was a tough one for me to learn) but they will go away all on thier own and seek attention elsewhere given the opportunity.

Two: we, as a forum, do not need to proceed in lockstep on every issue. Disagreement is a good thing. It seems that some get in a twist of some of the senior members aren't in agreement. Hell, I disagree with TLW all the time. Sometimes vehemently...like when my pillowcase still smells like Brylcreme....it's ok, really. The last thing I want to do is sit around holding hands singing Kumbaya with some of you dipshits. Keep it reasonably civil and all will be right with the world.

Three: this is still the best forum going. Sure, things change and people come and go, that's ok. Stagnation is not.

Four: It's audio and this is an internet bulletin board. There are some of you guys that I love like family, but, for the most part, keep it in perspective. I've been away from home 18 of the last 21 months.....if you want to know what's really important, I'll be happy to expound but audio and an internet forum are low on the list.

Now, wanna talk about something cool? What do you guys know about the Incomparable Capehart, this thing is minty, HELLA cool and has lots of tubes with the original manual and schematics. TLW picked this up for me from the original owner (bought new in Sept 1957) and has been used ever since. The minty rosewood cabinet is to die for in and of itself.....Consoles are cool.

There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin
