    I lost ya at the transport, but it sounds pretty cool. So you feed the ipod into your home system? soory for the ignorance.

    The audio chain at home, and at work, is:

    iPod--->Wadia---->Dac1
    >Pre-amp---->etc. (home)

    iPod--->Wadia---->Dac1
    >Headphones (work)

    The Dac1 is the major component in this chain as it changes the digital data into analog. Although it has gotten great reviews, and even though it costs $1000, there are better DACs out there. I have been looking into the Berkley Audio Design Alpha DAC at $5000. Suppossedly, this DAC puts the music server into the very high-end of CD players.

    I don't wanna bore y'all with my whole audio-dork progression...suffice to say I've had some pretty decent rigs over the years. Mostly, as I look back 35 years or so over the misty memories of systems past, I see a lot of tail-chasing. But not to worry, for this is not a tale of woe and regret! It's all been fun and I've learned a thing or two...mainly not to proclaim my "arrival" at any sort of audio "final solution". That would mean the trip's over; time to get off the bus! ...No thanks, I'd rather keep riding and enjoy the scenery.

    My first real system was a Sony 5.1 receiver and a pair of RT35i ---

    I sold the Sony after 2 weeks of owning it and purchased a Yamaha receiver. Quickly following that was CS245i and RT25i for surrounds. My Dad sold me his M&K MX90 (MX125). After reading about seperate amps - I picked up a GFA545II. The Yamaha did not have preouts, so that sat on my shelf for a long time.

    I later added a Pioneer Elite VSX-41 (I think it was - I have it wrote down somewhere). At this point I added RTi70 (I hated these speakers) and RT5 for centers and moved the RT35i to the rear and sold the CS245i and RT25i. This was a good setup, I slowly added another Adcom GFA-545 and three Adcom GFA535 amps to the system to go along with each channel... Also swapped out the CDP with an Onix XCD88. Also around this time I added a SVS PCi 22-31

    After that point I purchased a pair of Definitive Tech BP6B. They were ok. I then purchased a pair of Def Tech BP10B and fell in love with them for a 1 year slumber. The BP6B were for surrounds. After about 6 months of the most deadliest HT you ever heard - I sold the PE receiver and picked up an older NAD preamp based on name. It sucked. Instead of really getting back into HT - I picked up a B&K PT5 preamp and B&K ST125.2 amplifer and focused on music. Over time I sold off the surrounds and extra amps and pretty much went strictly music. For a long time I had that B&K, Def Tech, and SVS setup...

    I ran that for about a year --- then I purchased a pair of Tyler Acoustics Taylo 7u --- probally one of the single best audio purchases I ever made...

    As soon as this took place, everything else went crazy. I sold the B&K amp and purchased an Odyssey Audio Khartago amplifier --- what an amazing piece of gear. The SVS was quickly replaced with VMPS largers (stereo) with a XTi amp and crossover. Soon after that - the B&K preamp was gone and the Odyssey Audio Candela came into the picture. Then the CD player to a Shanling CDT100a. About a year later I landed a deal on some Odyssey Audio Mono Extremes. I ran that setup for a long time as well. I eventually sold off the subs in exchange for new furniture. Funny how that worked out... LOL

    I ran that setup for a solid year. The 7u was hands down my best speaker to date and this was the best setup I ever had. Ty released a new line up (Decade) - and I purchased a pair of D2 speakers from him. I did not like them with my room and decided to go with a pair of Super Towers. Shortly after this I picked up all MIT cables (huge improvement) and had my Candela upgraded to current specs.

    My next move is a Symphonic line CDP and to get my stereo Tyler Acoustics Bass Modules (as I will call them) and this should top off the best stereo I feel I can probally put together....

    Wow this turned out to be long... I started my audio journey at age 12 making 30 dollars a day working for my Dad. I bought ALOT of gear, learned alot, had alot of fun - but after 8 years of crazineess, I am ready for it to be over and enjoy it!

    Oddly enough, I do not have any current system pics... but this is all I could find. I dont have any pics of my old setups with the Polks or the DTs unfortunately. I really wish I did. Alot of memories there!

    Yeah, I wish they had worked better in my room. A tad bass heavy ;)

    My Super Towers are far superior in the midrange though. That is for sure. No comparison. A little bass shy though. (Hence why the subs are on the way)
