I'm looking for in ceiling speakers for a Retail Environment. Ceiling Height varies from 10 to 12 feet. I have two spaces to cover one that is about 20' x 60' and the other that is about 40' x 60'.

I've been looking at the RC80i's and the RC60i's. Any advantage to one over the other in this type of installation?

I aslo need to know how many speakers I need to effectively cover the spaces for ambient listening.

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

I sent you a PM with some information, but there is a rundown here as well.

My initial thoughts are to use a 70volt commercial audio system with something the Atlas FAP62T in-ceiling speaker and a Atlas or Crown mixer/amp. Other than being more stable long term, this would allow for the use of a microphone in the system. A 70Volt system also cuts down on wiring time, as you don't have to run as much wire. Each speaker can be daisy chained to the next speaker, similar to a speaker system wired in parallel.

    Te 62T's have a dispersion of 110degrees (http://www.atlassound.com/Product.aspx?id=1315&pI=1311)

The dispersion will help you determine how many speakers are needed to cover a given space.

I had considered doing a 70 volt system, but there may be the need for having separate sources playing in up three different zones. There is the main retail space, an office, and a storage/work area. The owner would possibly like the ability to have different audio playing at different levels in the different zones. I don't see any need for a Microphone System, but I will check with the owner.
