Setting Up a 7.1 System
I own a pair of vintage Monitor 7C speakers. I recently bought a Denon AV receiver (AVR-689). I will like to add additional speakers to complete a 7.1 surround set up. The room is 15’ by 21’. I am looking for recommendations of other Polk Audio speakers that would complement the ones that I already have. Thank you in advance.

I can only share with you my personal 7.1 setup which works for me.
Center speaker - Polk CSi A6
Front floor/tower speakers L/R - Polk RTi A9
Side speakers - Polk RTi A3
Rear speakers - Polk RTi A3
Sub - SVS PB12 Ultra
I'm thinking of replacing my side and rear speakers with Polk FXI A6's -
Not able to help much with specific recommendations. But I will offer up this; try to get as good of a quality center speaker that will timbre match the 7's as you can get
I'm sure some of the people here familiar with the 7C's can offer a suggestion or two on what will be a good timbre match, but I can't. Being the age they are it may not be easy, but I think there are some others here that are using them in a HT application.
That's not a real powerful AVR and a medium sized room, but since you already have the AVR go with it and see if it meets your expectations. Just saying with that room you may want to buy a 5.1 set up first and see how it goes. The fewer speakers you try to drive with it, the better chance you have of being happy with the results.
