Hey guys - there's a local guy on CL selling a pair of R30s for $50. I'm not sure of condition, but i'd be able to inspect them before purchase. He's moving, and he already has his receiver packed up, so i can't listen to them unless i bring my own. Anyway - i'm not really in the market for new speakers and i'm not even sure how i'd use these as i have all wall mounted speakers to keep them away from the 10 month old - but is this just a really good deal i need to jump on ($25 / spkr)? Or is this about what one would normally pay, no big deal, and since i have no real need i might as well pass up?
Thanks,
Chris

Do they have a history of bad tweeters? Also, i see that Newegg.com has the CS1 on sale for $60. This wouldn't be a second system, this would be my main, but right now i have Klipsch Quintet speakers around (the only plus is that they mount on the wall well above my children's hands) - but i've never been crazy about the Klipsch speakers - for $110, would this be worth it? Or would it be going from one just not good enough to another just not good enough. Just so you know, i really have NO budget for anything, but i might be able to talk the lass into letting me get them if they're worth it.

    Thanks,
    Chris

No history of bad tweeters, great deal and just fine for a primary system.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Well... didn't pass the wife questioning who is perfectly content with our current setup and would much rather see the money spent elsewhere. So - if there is anyone in St. Louis interested in these, i can pass along the guy's information for ya.
    Bummed,
    Chris

Lol - yes i am - but that's beside the point - she actually used reason against me - kinda sad. We actually agreed last year no unnecessary spending until all debt but the house was paid off (Dave Ramsey) and this falls into that category. I thought i could pull it off, but since she had no problems with the current setup, she couldn't see the need. Oh well - i'm just storing it away now and will come back with it for something much nicer when the debt is paid off down the road.
