Just picked my "new" SDA-2Bs. I was very lucky. They came in the original boxes with all the packing material and are in near new condition. And of course they came with the interconnect cable. I even have the original manual, SDA brochure, and the original receipt.

I hooked them up to my Sony receiver just to do a quick check and they sound fantastic.

When my back is feeling better, I'm going to use them in my 2 channel Hafler system.

Nice speakers. You would have to have your feet between them to get good imaging. Mine are 11'6" apart inside to inside. I sit 12 feet back. Jerry's are 12' apart and he sits 12 back. You will not even come close to hearing the imaging till they are spread apart. It looks unnatural, but it is truly the way to set them up.

When the speakers look to far apart move them another couple feet further from each other. Also sit on the floor and move back and forth;) Sometimes I like to sit on the floor in front of my couch:) Being low can make the sound stage huge in some environments.

one can NEVER have to many SDA's. You should know first-hand the truth of this as you have built so many of your own, including the legendary megaliths... Great work btw...

Very nice! Whoever had them must have very well cared for them. To have the origianal boxes after all of these years? Those boxes are large. After the first one suffered water damage in my basement, the 2nd one became the box to keep all of the Christmas gear (lights, ornaments, figures, nativity scene, etc). I'm never going to get rid of my SDA 2Bs and still have the rest of the original stuff (like sales reciept).

I can't believe how nice these speakers are! They (and their original boxes and manuals) are in near perfect condition. I need to do some major furniture reshuffeling to set these speakers up right, but even positioned the way they are and only being driven by a Sony STR G-3 receiver they sound great.

I do still like the sound of my RTA-12Bs, but they have the advantage of being driven by my Hafler DH-500.

Attached is a copy of the original receipt dated Jan. 11, 1990. Also, a page from the Polk brochure with quotes on other versions.

LOL. Seriously, Ben, cmon. I now crave SDA constantly. Or another pair of Monitor 10B or Monitor 7C. That would be sweet.

As for the Denver pairs... no. Lol. Not a short drive at all. Especially not with the gas prices these days.
