Go buy it, it's amazing.

Track 3 is intense, when all the action of the movie is going on you ignore it, but its so good by itself.

    I agree :D
This is one of my all time fave's for sountracks (not that I have many)
And also a personal fave for serious headphone listening.
Also...Don't know why,but this made me think of another album that is a must for 'phones (or if you just want to hear a well recorded album)
Billy Cobham "Warning" - Simply amazing stuff ! - IMHO, highly recom.
(Taken from the back of the disc) -- "Warning, This is a pure digital recording.Due to the nature of the excessive transients on this album, please excercise caution in determining proper playback levels.Severe damage could result to your sound system if played at extremely high levels."
Check it out if you get a chance.

    CHEERS ! jefff

As the risk of getting flamed, the Gladiator soundtrack is every bit the equal - in terms of emotion invoked - of any classical movement I have ever heard.

Also at the risk of flames - this is Hans Zimmer's best work by far and he stands right in there with the long dead greatest composers of our time.

Quite simply - this soundtrack and composition is an absolute masterpiece. Catch his lengthy interview on the DVD extras.

Icing on the cake is the fact that it is one of the best stereo recordings I have ever heard, with a rock solid and extraordinarily deep and detailed soundstage.

Also, the bass is among the cleanest, deepest and most powerful I have ever heard on a non-DVD recording. There are notes in this CD that my large Advents ignore - and that's saying something since the Advents are flat to 31 Hz. The SVS renders this soundtrack with such fidelity it brings a tear to my eye.
