OWM3/OWM5 as surrounds for RTi A setup?
Hey guys,
So my couch is straight up against the wall... and against the corner as well on the right side. There's no room to the back or side of it. I'm thinking about getting some small speakers as surrounds (entertaining the idea) and probably located them right above our heads behind the couch. Currently running 3.1. Would these blend ok for home theater? Wouldn't use them for music since I'll stick with 2.1 for that.
Is this a good idea or should I stick with 3.1? Thanks!

If u hav some room on the side, u cud go w/ either FXiAx or RTiAx. I hav my couch against the wall and I'm trying different things to keep 7.1, though Polk Gurus suggest to keep 5.1

I am running OWM3s with RTi8 fronts and a CSi3 center in 5.1. I have been very happy with the sound of these little guys. They blend perfectly into the system.
I was a bit skeptical at first given their unique shape and driver size, but I have to say they more than hold their own. Crisp/accurate highs and very detailed midrange...no real bass response, though the sub is there to cover it. Very impressive little speaker, and they look quite cool as well mounted up in the corners.

Thanks for the response! I'm getting closer and closer to getting these since you have a very similar system.

No room though... The speakers will literally be next to my head if I sat at the edge of the couch... The FXi speakers are pretty big...

I've been looking at either the 3's or 5's for the side and rear four speakers as well. I listened to the 3's, but haven't seen the 5's in a store just yet. The 3's sounded pretty good (for their size), how much better would the 5's be for twice the price (I need to get four so if it's not that much difference, I may as well stick with the 3's.)
They are only rated to 100w so I sent a note to Polk asking if a 130wpc receiver would be an issue -- they didn't think so. Any other thoughts on these line of speakers?AVR - Denon 3808CI 7.1

Menasor - The OWM series would be a great choice for your application.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
