Ryan Newman escapes decapitation, Carl Edwards goes into the catch fence and then does a Ricky Bobby run to the finish line  scared the crap outta me, glad everyone is ok, the clips aren't up yet, watch for them.

Great 'Dega action, Junior finished 2nd again, he needs a bridesmaids dress :p;) my boy Tony struggled after running good towards the end :(

Stewart-Haas Racing is the one to watch this year :)

Craziest plate wreck since Ricky Craven's crash in 1996.

As long as NASCAR gives NO flexibility regarding the double-yellow line, this result is what we are stuck with. Kesolowski did the right thing, under the rules, whether it was lap 2 or lap 188 or just 2 cars involved or in the middle of a three-wide pack.

Agreed, but still a horse.... way to win. I would not have been turning doughnuts afterwards that's for sure. I would have been on my way to see if he was alright...

When I first saw the crash (and I was watching Live) I thought the car was going to go over the fence! Amazing he walked away from it. And if I was a fan sitting that close when he hit, I would seriously think thwice about sitting there ever again. I am pretty sure I would have soiled myself seeing that car come at me at 200 MPH.

Wasn't Kesolowski fault,Edwards admitted to cutting cut down into him because he didn't realize he was that far forward.

It's great that the drivers were all OK, but 8 fans were injured and 2 were airlifted out. It may be fun to watch, but they really need to quit dicking around with petty rules, and start addressing major issues. You're always gonna have a few drivers upset with little things, but all the drivers have been complaining about racing at this track for years. It's time they quit **** around and actually fix it.

What more can they do? They enacted the restrictor plates because the cars were getting up to 220 mph and when a racecar actually flew up into the stands they put up this big **** fence which did a great job! Here is a 3500 pound car flying into the fence at 190 mph and it held up. The people that were injured were hit by flying debris. Had it not been for these safety measures, there wouldve been people killed. The 2 people that were airlifted - one woman that was sitting in the stands was having chest pains and another had some pretty good cuts on their face from flying debris.

The "no passing below the double yellow line" rule was enacted for safety because drivers (who all have balls of steel and aint skeered of anything) were trying daredevil passes on the slippery apron and grass and causing big wrecks. Keeping them from passing below this line has put a halt to a lot of these wrecks.

Im not sure how much safer they can make racing. Not allow any spectators? Limit them to 55 mph? **** happens. Theyve watered down NASCAR so much its almost not any fun to watch. They water it down anymore and theyll have to put dresses on the drivers.

Put truck bodies on the CoT (or otherwise dirty them up aerodynamically) and yank the restrictor plates.

I'd like to watch that race, but not from the stands. At those speeds cars would be doing a Richard Petty 1988 Daytona like dance, but on top of the catch fences.

I heard 8 fans were injured. 2 were flown to a local hospital. A lady had her jaw broken and another was having chest pains. I wonder if they'll try to sue Nascar over it?

I heard the reason why they were halo flighted was mostly traffic related. If you've ever tried to get out of a NASCAR race you'll understand.

Since I grew up on racetracks, SCCA road courses in the 60's, Pa was always yelling at me to get back from the edge of the track, I'd sneak away and around the next corner, right back up there, I didn't care, I still don't, in the 30+ NASCAR races I've been to, down by the fence is the place to be baby! It's all part of the package, you take a chance everyday of your life, I prefer to have some fun :D! If part of my cheek was cut away by a chunk of metal, I'd wear it proudly, like a battle scar
