Which receiver for VM Series?
I just purchased 4 VM-10 (L, R, SL, SR) and 1 VM-20 (Center) to replace a 12 year old Polk RM-7600 system. However, I am still using the PSW-300 subwoofer. I couldn't be happier with the VM series, but the sound of the Yamaha HTR-5950 receiver leans a little toward the high/midrange end. The subwoofer does it's job well, but I'll describe it as I've read on other posts regarding paring some Polk speakers with some Yamaha receivers...harsh. In other forums, some recommendations have been to check out Onkyo or Denon receivers. I'd be happy to get a new receiver since I would like to get HDMI switching (need 4 inputs) anyway. Does anyone have any receiver recommendations?

I'm new here myself, and by no means am I an expert on this subject, but I can tell you a little on my own personal experiance with my receiver. I recently picked up the pioneer 92 elite and couldn't be happier. The 92 and 94 models are discontinued now, so they can be had for around half the original price, picked mine up for 730.00. They got most of the goodies, including 4 hdmi ins and 1 out, and lots of clean power. Need a little elbow room in the rack for that big daddy, though. good luck
