You will need 4ch of power to run both arrays....

They'll set you on a quest (i guarantee it), that you wont be able to stop....:D

4 channels of power? Forgive my ignorance on these but does each satellite require 2 separate channels? If so, do you use a Y cable to run a pre-out to 2 channels on a power amp?

If I end up getting these, it's a good thing I haven't drywalled the garage wall behind my speakers yet, I'd need to run another set of cables.......and I'd better take the Adcom off of the FS classifieds section.

I can see that they are a Quest. Ed has 2 full sets plus an extra satellite and seems to not be satisfied enough as he appears to be looking for more. :)

The SDA array runs through the control center. The Stereo can be run direct from the power amp. You will need splitters of the receiver pre outs....

They can both be run through the control center but the amp sees a parallel load (4ohms). I've personally never tried it, but i got a 6ch amp to do the subs aswell.

Then after a while you'll want to make the subs world class, so, you'll remove the plate amps and get 2 more ch of amplification. The best upgrade i ever made, only now i want to remove the -6db @ 16hz in the control center.... It never ends....
In terms of audio, i truly feel sorry for the visually impaired. How can they know what they like if they cant read google?

Sounds fantastic. I always thought the subs seemed underpowered for this set at 300wpc. There's that much difference when you went with separates?

Not really separates - The 6 x 400w all goes to the Fronts sda=400, stereo=400 and the last channels to the subs. I did it this way as i listen to music more than i watch movies. If i had the $$$ i'd get another V-starr although worth every penny i just cant afford another....

Running the bass off the Verastarr is the most significant upgrade i have ever done. I have the bass for music set at -15db for music and you can still feel it when it's called on. It's tight, textured and quick, the thing i like most though is how bass notes decay so naturally. The other thing that amazes me is the power handling, a true 400w @ 8ohms into a 4ohm sub and listening to music at 0.0 without fear of anything breaking, is just phenomenal!
Movies is set at 0db on the control center. Tactile about sums it up, i doubt a butt kicker could do any better. The HVCD 10in drivers have to rate as one of the best drivers (if not the) that Polk have ever made. When your vision blurs and you're gettin a massage you know your onto something special!!!

Your descriptions make it just that much worse that this set is missing the dang left channel. :(

    LOL

    There's plenty of negatives ;

    * Your neighbors will hate you.
    * Eventually you'll need to re-fix your plaster board behind them.
    * You'll never be able to remove all the rattles from your room.
    * Every friend you have, will at some stage turn up with a movie in hand.

I'll invite them over to watch a movie. Then they'll understand.

I know a very good drywaller.

    * You'll never be able to remove all the rattles from your room.
Which is louder, the speakers or the rattles?

    * Every friend you have, will at some stage turn up with a movie in hand.
What good is a system if you can't impress the socks off your friends? :D

Btw, the guy selling the partial SRT posted before in this thread:
    http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70421

He's joe from sinivision. I spoke to him in regards to purchasing the right side sat.
He couldn't agree on payment method. He wanted me to send payment first.
I asked if i can have this item shipped cod, he refused.
Too bad we couldn't come to an agreement otherwise it would have been on it's way to NY.

I'm considering getting a friend (speaker maker) to have a look at the control center to see if it can be altered. I want to see if there is a way to remove the -6db (IIRC) at 16hz.

Ben do you think this would be do-able to someone with speaker making knowledge?

Funny that comment Ed about them being the best. I heard some very expensive (and highly regarded), speakers just recently. I walked away thinking "where's the imaging", wasn't till i got home that i found it.... ;)

This is the guy selling the SRT system that ESavinon is refering to. I've been burned many times not getting the money first for a sale. Having a real business should be enough to send payment first which is how most businesses run.You prepay for the item including shipping and then you get your item shipped to you. As a seller we have more to loose then the buyer as you can track a business down. Also paying through Paypal does help.

If anyone is interested in the SRT package this is what I have

only the Right channerl tower, dont know what happened to the left.

    2 subs no controller

1 center channel, I'm currently using and will only sell for the right price and if entire package sells near asking price.

2 LS FX surrounds for FREE! only with purchase of the other speakers.

PS, I used to have a pair of SDAs.

Once again I have a real business with real clients.

Please contact me if your interested.

I too have a daycare in my house. If the HT is in the daycare approved area of the house and the childern have access to watch movies once or more per week, then you can write off your gear on a % basis. Have uncle sam pay for part of your gear.

Great idea. I think I'll move my laptop into my Home Theater and use my projector as the monitor so I can call that my office. I need it with all these new tax hikes in CA!
