Replacing/upgrading the cable on a TT

Anyone have any how-tos on replacing the cable from the turntable to the AVR? I've got some extra interconnects laying around that I cant help but think are higher quality that what came on the turntable, and I don't mind wielding a screwdriver and soldering iron.

Arm: Rega 300
Cart: Shelter 501 III
Phono Pre: dsachs consulting
Digital: Marantz SACD 30n
Pre: Conrad Johnson ET3 SE
Amp: Conrad Johnson Premier 350
Cables: Cardas Neutral Reference
