I found it funny that someone thought this was such a huge problem in our society that they had to create a huge CL post about it.

It's funny...I actually have some White Van speakers.

It was about 5 years or so ago, I'd just gotten my first apartment and didn't have anything to listen to music on there for a while. I was at Best Buy with one of my friends and one of the White Van guys comes walking up to us trying to sell us some a surround sound setup.

He was originally asking for 1200 dollars or something like that, I figured I'd haggle with him for a bit, because I needed something to listen to music on. I ended up talking him down to 65 dollars...lol

It's really not that bad either. I've still got it and it still works fine, I don't plan on using it anytime soon though...lol...With all seriousness, I'd say it's at least as good as most Bose systems, and probably better than the cheaper Bose systems. That doesn't say a whole lot, but it's not bad for 65 bucks.

Somebody has a warning post and posts it all the time here in Dallas. There's a rash
of the white van guys trying to sell those things for half of list in unopened boxes.
And there's always a sucker. There was one where they described
it as Polk, Paradigm, etc. Same picture. Same seller. Just changed the
brand name every couple of days. EBAY is filthy with the damn things. They
have websites with glowing reviews, create fake audioreview postings,
and generally behave badly. It's a huge PITA here.
