Dave (Poee7R) has a pair of these ready to go. They are in good shape, 7/10.
He's moving to OK next week and doesn't have room in the car for them. Local pick up is prefered, but the Lightman Express can be hired out within reason.;) A heck of a deal on some damn tasty SDA's. PM Dave (Poee7R) if interested.
I'm just helping a friend out. http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81344ping

I saw those...if I was a little closer to NC they'd already be mine. I'm in northern Illinois though, which would be a bit of a drive.

Does the Lightman express deliver to Illinois? It's only about 900 miles...lol

What does Dave mean when he says he rewired the SDAs because he had two left speakers? Speakers? Are these the speakers that have some sort of connecting wire between them and phase-shift? And how would rewiring them correct for that?

SDA's have left and right side versions, he got two left side speakers. He rewired one of the cabinets so that it would function properly as a right side speaker.

    Curt,

I'm still not following this, are the drivers mirrored pairs or are they the same configuration for each side?

The cabinets themselves are mirrored pairs. The drivers are in the same places, but they have separate stereo and dimensional arrays(the two MW's). I forget which is which, I believe the inside drivers are the stereo arrays, and the outside drivers are the dimensional arrays. He got two left cabinets, so the stereo and dimensional arrays are on the same side on each cabinet.

He had to rewire one of them, so that the stereo and dimensional arrays mirrored the positions of the stereo and dimensional arrays on the other cabinet.

My Bad! Forgot to mention that. Yes, it was just a matter of swapping the dim and mid on one speaker.

I'd be interested in these if I were closer. I do have relatives in N.C. The main problem is that Dave looks like he's out the door. I wouldn't be able to get down there to pick them up till late May at the earliest and I'd have to be able to fit them into a normal vehicle in the back seat.

A lot of ifs there. I wouldn't feel right having these shipped to Maine. I have a house in Pa.--my deceased parents. Don't mind me. I'm just thinking aloud.

Well I saw this thread and was typing out a response and got a phone call that there may be something in the works.

Thanks Russ you rock, you smell, but you rock.

And yes, as pointed out earlier, I switched the drivers and wiring to follow, to essentially create a right channel. I did relable the channel as a right, so no worries there.

    Hi Dave,

I am interested and am trying to work this out with Russ and the Express! Getting a bit tired at this point so the gist is he's willing to pick up and hold for me...unless someone already has dibs on these? In which case I'm cool with that too.

I'm signing off, but I am amused that I broke into Polkhead status when I decided to get my first SDAs? Karma?

    Thanks guys

If they are a similar depth to the sda 1's they should fit in a back seat. Mine fit in a Chevy Colbalt believe it or not.

Winning lottery ticket numbers, or a good sounding ugly near free FM tuner. I like broken stuff too.

Dam Dam Dam Dam Dam double g*ddam. :( Those speakers came up for $175 right after I convinced my boss that my time was better spent in Chicago than expensing a trip to Raleigh. I cussed then, as I could have arranged my fate to include shagging those SDAs.

I'm just back from Chicago. Just before going there my boss decides to take me on a whirlwind trip through the Carolinas, ending as far south as Atlanta to meet clients and wine & dine promising prospects. Long days, long evenings. I can't even stop into Ben's to check out his rig and chickens and will be back the Friday before Ben's confab ... which will lead to a divorce if I head right back out the door....

At the end of the day, I could have probably shagged those SDAs, somehow taken them to Ben's for a test drive & met his chickens (that would have required some serious thought as to how to credibly ditch the boss & planned business development dinner) and came home a happy roadtripper. :(:(:(:(
