Does anyone know if the little green light in the center of the RT2000P's are suppose to stay on all the time? or are they suppose to come on only when the amps have feed to them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    HI:

The light stays on all the time. The amp will switch off when a signal is not present. I know, I have a pair.

Yeah, those little lights bug me too. I'll walk through the living room where the 2000is live and see that one (but not both) of the lights will be on...and the system hasn't been powered up since the day before. I know they are only supposed to come on when the amp is receiving a signal. Sounds like I need to spend a bunch of money on one of those HT power centers....or some electrical tape.

Polk resolved this issue with the new RTi line--no lights, no complaints, no electrical tape or rewiring necessary. The lights only bothered me when I first put a pair of RT1000p speakers as surrounds and one of the lights reflected off the TV screen. Sometimes the amps would click on if my dog would bark, but the lights would be on all the time in the auto setting. Same thing with the RT1000i speakers.

Thanks for all the info. It's not that I am bugged by the little lights, rather it was the fact I was trying to find out if they were suppose to stay on. It all started with my friend who has the RT2000i's, his light only comes on when his amp receives input. I thought my speakers were defective since my little green light stayed on all the time. Now, from all the input, I can see that my speakers are just fine.

    Thanks again!:D

    ROFL.......very nice faster.......good lord....

What I'd like to do is to switch the lil **** from green to blue. Not that that would be subtle, but who cares.......

if you can find one with the right voltage then you might have to make the whole a little bigger to fit it in. caues blue led are few and far between. red would be alot easer to find.

I love the green LEDs in the center!!.. It's cool when you're watching an action DVD with the lights off. When the sounds starts pumping and you see that little glow, it gives you a sense the power the RT2000s are capable of. :D

Mine used to stay on too. I just unplugged it for a couple of secs. After that, I never had a problem with them not going off after there was no signal.

The lights should only come on when signal is present. The lights signify that the internal power amps are powered up. The lights will stay on for several minutes after the signal has dissappeared.

If the lights stay on all the time you may have an earth loop inducing hum into the input ( I suppose your using the line level inputs).

    Hope this helps.
