Finally got a pair of rdo-198's for my Monitor 12's.:):)

They have been in for a week now and while they have more detail they seem a little brighter than the sl2500's. I've noticed that with vocals the "s" seems to drag on a bit more. (for the want of a better description)

They don't sound hissy but anything with an "S" in it tends to be more present. It has already showed signs of settling down a bit.

Will it continue to smooth out with more running?

Has anyone had this result early on?

Still happy with them overall. The 12's sound more "alive" than they have for a long time.

Im planning to tackle the xo's next (with alot of help from some of you good people) and im looking forward to more improvements from that.

Will upgrading the xo's help smooth out the top end?

Yes, they will get much "better" over time. It took my RD0's about 30 days to become fully broken in. Be patient and note the subtle changes the more time you put on them.

Refreshing the X-overs will be very beneficial as well. Those will need even more time to fully break-in as well. Good luck and get chopping on the x-overs :p

"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul!
