High End cuts out on SDA 1C's

Hi, first post in this forum. Last year I purchased a pair of SDA 1C speakers off ebay, They have the original tweeters in them and came with the crossovers upgraded. They work fine most of the time, when I first got them I used a HK680i receiver to power them and it worked fine until I found a Carver TFM 35x on craigslist which is now used with a new HK receiver.
On either receiver the left speaker has its high end cut out while listening to music at LOW listening levels, and will pop back in when the volume is turned up. I was told by the seller that the Poly-switches were removed (but if they were installed I guess this would be the opposite of what they are supposed to do) I have checked the crossovers out and they look fine, so could this be a tweeter issue? or could there be something else wrong?
Thanks

Are you sure it's just the highs cutting out and not the entire left speaker as the SDA drivers will still play as they are getting a signal from the right speaker. I think your amp has issues in the left channel.Political Correctness'.........defined

I would find it amazing if the 4 different stereos I have tried have left channel issues, It seems as if it is the high end only(everything sounds muffled out of the left speaker when it cuts out), but it could be about the whole left speaker and the SDA drivers are still playing. Could this be an x-over issue then?System:

I would double check to see if the Poly switches were jumped.

check to see that you have the speakers correctly wired. If you have them out of phase it would showing your amp a direct short. Disconnect the sda cable and try again. If you get decent volume out of them, then I would check the speakers for proper phasing...The Gear...
