I can't decide if it's real, or just satire. Either way, it's funny as all hell... Read the descriptions!!!

    hahaha...that's some funny **** there!

$135 for an optical/TOSlink cable...and the descriptions are awesome!

Definately a joke...maybe. The checkout cart seems legit...

The checkout didn't work for me.

Yeah, checkout seems to be broken.

    I LOVE their guarantee though!!

"In life there are few guarantees, but we'll see those few and raise you one more. We guarantee that anything you buy from us will work as advertised, if not better. AViC Cable will make your system all blinged out, looking and sounding better than ever, however, our cables will not improve your chances of getting laid or help with that itchy rash that just wont go away. If you are not satisfied with your AViC Cable purchase, just remember that a giant meteor or comet could come smashing into the Earth any day now."

I'm actually thinking this is a legit company!

If they can sell even a few dozen a month to idiots...just think about the profits!

I Love the SACD Audio Cables...

    AViC SACD Audio Cable...

Six AViC GoldFinger™ OFHC conductors - wow that’s a lot.

Six channels of digital audio with 96 KHz / 24-bit resolution.

Color-coded connectors to conquer innate stupidity.

AViC Involution™ Shielding repels gamma radiation and tachyons.

Almost makes bad music tolerable for over 2.6 minutes.

The mailing address they give belongs to the company who made the website... I think it's just satire. Oddly, there are reviews if you search on google for them.

Sorry for double posting, thought this was great considering some of the cable wars that have been going on...
    AViC Cable Technology

Some would say that "technology" is a somewhat grandiose term when used to describe cables, but we digress. AViC Cable specializes in the latest in marketing technology, where we query our self-aware computer, Patches, for fancy, flamboyant or even downright ridiculous ways if describing the generally mundane elements of a cable.
    AViC GoldFinger™ OFHC Copper Conductors
James Bond would probably like our cables, in fact, Q used to shop here all the time until Patches had him arrested by Interpol for planning a global relaunch of Furbees. AViC Cables have conductors that are made out of OFHC copper, that is the purest form of copper possible. It conducts about as good as silver does, but doesn't cost as much. You might be wondering what makes them "golden", well, that's our little secret! SHHH!

    AViC Involution™ Shielding
We like shields, so we put them all over our cables, and guess what?! They work! A typical "junk" cable that you get for cheap is built cheap, its shielding isn't as dense as ours, nor is it as consistent. That translates to a higher possibility for unspeakable weirdness happening during sound or video playback.

    AViC OhmniMatch™ Connectors
They say a cable is only as good as its connector, and ours are the best. It's quite obvious that a better connector means a better connection, so with the best connector you get the best connection. Is it that simple? Yes, it really is.

    AViC AegisEX™ Jacket
We admit, we just put this on our cables to make them shiny. It does have a function of being able to fend off your rabid dog or feral cat. It also captures solar wind and focuses it into a plasma beam which you can use to defend yourself if the need arises.

    AViC PNx2™ Dielectric
This is the fluffy white part of the cable, that looks like a marshmallow...but you can't eat it! You will not see this, since it is inside the cable, but knowing it is there should make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's like knowing that someone really loves you.

    AViC ChronoSync™ Conductors
Using unknown elements that rained down upon our offices from the heavens, we managed to create conductors that transend the space-time continuum in order to deliver better sound. We have ours plugged into the 80s.

I'm fighting back tears. That has to be one of the funniest links ever posted on this forum.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    Here's a full review - http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/cables/avic-speaker-cable-11/avic-speaker-cables-full-review

Note that the bits they quote from the website aren't really humorous.

Here's my thought on what happened. AViC used to be a real cable company... Then, they went bust. However, their website was still being hosted by holoMaXx. When holoMaXx found out they were defunct, they played around with the website, poking fun at all the product AViC used to make.

Now, this is just my version of what might have happened... either way, the website really is funny as all hell.

If you check out the internet archive at www.archive.org, you can see that it used to be a serious website. June 7th, 2005 was the last point that they archived that it looks real. From that point on it's been at it's present state.
