I've negotiated the price down to a firm 10 bucks, does anyone know anything about harmon kardon stuff of this vintage or this particular model? Is it worth 10 Bucks?

Thanks,

Nate

Someone correct me if i am wrong, if it is a problem with the caps then it wouldn't be a huge deal to replace them here or there.

If you can fix it yourself, it's probably worth $10. If you plan on paying for repairs, I wouldn't bother.

Here it is, I bought it a few hours ago. And jut like he said there is a constant scratchy like sound constantly, any ideas? He also said that the scratchy-ness gets better after about 2 hours, but still remains.

Check all connections, look for burns on the motherboard. You might want to contact HK and see if they have a set of schematics that you can download or they can send you. With a piece of equipment that old you should not have that hard of a time fixing it if you have a basic electrical knowledge.

No burns on board, looks pretty clean. Im on hold with HK CS now, the thing is making a beeping noise, It seems to be picking up interference from my iphone as it gets louder the closer I hold it to the unit. Discontinued in 1975! it is 10 years older than me! It has been playing for about 30 min now and the scratchy-ness has subsided, still doesnt sound that great.
