RTI 150 speakers:
Hi:
Has anyone heard the new RTI 150 speakers. I am primarily interested in the bass response.

I love mine. Great bass response-smooth, punchy, powerful and tight. No sub necessary for 2 channel listening, although I do use one for HT

A little different from Polk's offerings in recent years. More tightly defined bass than any of their other RT offerings. Considerably stronger than the RT1000is, but not quite as much oomph as the RT2000is--more controlled though. Goes down to 25 hz, making many subwoofers redundant. Otherwise the midrange and highs seem to be about the same as the RT1000is--I traded a pair for my RTi150s. Will handle up to 500 watts. Even at 120 watts per channel they're very impressive at high volume settings.

I was hesitant to trade my RT800i for the RTi150 because you can not get a good demo at CC. When I did the trade and got them home, I thought they might miss some of the midrange of the 800s and the imaging was not as good either, however the bass response was excellent! After moving them and the furniture around a bit the imaging is excellent and I dont notice the lacking midrange anymore. Just like stevew14, now I only use my sub for HT. The bass is that good. From spending time in Club Polk I realize the LSi line might not be for everyone, so I got the best RTi speakers available Rti150s, FXi50s, RTi38s and CSi40 (also for the easy trade in policy at CC, they gave me full price for the old speakers). As I said, after careful placement I now love the 150s and have no intention of upgrading, at least no time soon.

Hi:
I have a quad front setup, two RT2000s and 2 RT800s in parallel, and CS400i driven by a B&K amp 340W a channel. I listened to the RTi at CC today and wasn't that impressed with them. I have a sub also and thought these might give me a better bass response in two channel but I don't think so.
